2012 Has Arrived!!!

I cannot believe that another year has come and gone! This last year has been... eventful! We moved from Arizona to Utah, I started school... again and we were blessed with baby Teagan. We have had our ups and downs but we have survived! This next year I have big plans!

1. I am determined to become healthier by eating right and exercising.

2. Riley is starting school this next year, my little baby is going to be in Kindergarten. I will be working with her until then to make sure that she is ready.

3. Lastly, I want to become a better person by always thinking of others before myself, making sure that I am there for whoever needs me, giving service when needed, not speaking harsh to my loved ones and always show my children how much I love them!!!

There are many moments in our lives that we will experience feelings that just need to be expressed. Right now is one of those moments for me!

Its True!!!

I am not sure what I am feeling or what I am going to say but right now I just feel that I need to say something and seeing how it is 12:35 PM I guess this is how I am going to get it off my chest.

Right now, my heart is telling me so many things....

~ The Church is true.

~ Christ Lives and He loves ME.

~ The Scriptures are true.

~ Families CAN be together FOREVER.

~ Prayers ARE answered (whether or not the its what you want to hear).

~ I really do LOVE going to the TEMPLE and notice a difference when I don't.

~ The Prophet on this earth today is President Monson.

~ Heavenly Father has a plan and His plan is PERFECT.

I have a great DESIRE to be this person who can do everything... Wonder Woman!! I want to be an amazing mom, wife, scripture reader, Temple goer, service giver and friend. Most of the time I fall short but I know that if I read my scriptures, say my prayers, attend the temple and listen to the councel of the Lord, then I CAN be that person I so desire!

August 9, 2011 at 1:31pm weighing 7 lbs 1 oz and 19 inches long!

We are all very excited and happy that he is here!

Being SPONTANEOUS is super exciting but does not always going as "planned"!!! We (mom, ryan, lane, the girls and I) tried to be spontaneous by hopping into the car and driving to Washington for a week. All was well and good until we hit Washington! The girls decided to get sick, NO FUN!!! I ended up taking Riley to the ER as a "just in case". It all turned out fine. We did not want others to get sick so we decided to go "camping" cabin style! After getting the fire started.... it started to rain. No Hot Dogs for us. We decided to go back to our family for warmth and food. It seemed that everyone was sick or getting sick while we were there. After driving there for 24 hours, the girls were HATING the car. So when we were on our way back... it took that much longer since the girls needed to get out. We are now home safe and sound... and warm! We did have a good time, even though all the sickies!!!

Let It Snow!!!

We got some GREAT snow!!!! After hours of begging I finally gave in. Completely unprepared for the snow, we got dresses in what we do have, jeans, rain boots, mittens (the kind you put into the snow gloves, for that extra layer) long sleeve shirts and of course our coats. The coats were the only thing that was ment for the snow. I of course do not have any of those luxeries either. So I tried to layer up the best that I could, but once we all of outside.... let me tell you it was not enough!!!! Why is it that kids seem to not notice the cold? The girls did not notice how frozen their fingers, ears and noses were after a couple of minutes! Even so, they had a BLAST!! They had a snowball fight.... with the electrical box. I am assuming they won!

I have come to the realization that this is going to by my way of "keeping a record". A couple of Sundays ago we had a lesson in church about this and it inspired be to do so. This is a great way to keep in touch and know what is going on with others but this is also for me to be able to remember what has happend in my life.

So with that being said, I have finally logged on once again... last post was over a year ago... YIKES!!! Alot has happend since then.

Main Event:

Job Loss: In November 2010, John came home from work around 11am.

ME: Hey, what are you doing home?

JOHN: Oh, I was going to go to the gym after work and I forgot my socks.

ME: You are sooo going to lose your job, that is a two hour lunch. Seriously, I could

brought them to you.

JOHN: Well, actually I did loss my job.

ME: Whatever! (pause) Seriously? (heart dropped to my toes)

JOHN: (Nonchalantly) Yep!

ME: (Smacked him on the arm) Seriously, John!?! (starting to freak out at this

point)

JOHN: WOW! I just lost my job and you smack me!

At that point I knew it was real. He then went to out loft and grabbed the papers that were handed to him as he was walked out. Why were they in the loft you ask.... this was his plan to play me. What a TURD!!!!

The University of Phoenix did not only lay John off but 700 other people as well. We knew that because of the economy in Phoenix that it was going to be hard to find a job in Phoenix. We determined that we wanted to be closer to John's family as well. We decided on moving out of Arizona. We liked to thouht of Utah since it was in the middle of Washington and Arizona. At that point we started puting in applications in ever company possible. A week went by and John had a couple of interviews. Things were looking up. He was offered a job with Capital Premium Financing! We were moving to Utah!!! This was on a Wednesday... they wanted him to start that following Monday!!! Crazy weekend.

We were very blessed to find a job that quickly (less than two weeks)! The Lord was surely looking out for us.

Surprise!!!!

That same day the job was offered, before it was offered. We had found out that I was pregnant with Number 3!!!!

We were excited but at the same time knew that we had no job, just yet! We then were offered the job a couple of hours later. I thank the Lord for all of our blessings throughout all the stress of that.

My heart and prayers go out to those that do not have an income. It was very stressful and we did not have to deal with it for very long. I pray that they are blessed with a job or some type of income and that they can find peace and happiness through the hard times. Staying close to the Lord and making sure that I was talking with Him was a way that I was able to feel peace.

Mid-December John moved himself up to Utah to start his Job! He really loves it! He works in the compliance department of that company. He does a lot of this and that and a lot of others things that I don't exactly understand but he seems happy when he tries to explain it to me.

He was living up here for about a month before I was able to bring the rest of us up. It is very cold up here but we love it. Our ward is AMAZING! They are very welcoming and I really LOVE all the people that I have met since we have been here!

We moved to Saratoga Springs, Ut. Since we have lived here we have had

3 earthquakes....

Not cool!!!! The first one was in between here and Lehi. Didn't feel that one. The first one that I DID feel was at 3:30am. Woke up from the sound of car "crashing" into the side of our building. Could not sleep after that. At church that day everyone was talking about an earthquake we had in the middle of the night. Then it was that very SAME day was third one... YIKES!!! I told John if this is how it is in Utah .....

I AM OUT OF HERE!!!!!

Luckily we have not had any since... so I guess we will stay!

So, obviously it has been a while since I have been even on here. We have been pretty busy with figuring out how to do things with not one child but two and not two easy ones but two very demanding. No worries though... it is WAY worth it.

Riley has been great with Laney is every way. I was afraid that she would want to hold her all the time and try to carry her around but she has been excellent and just let Mom and Dad do all the lifting. It has been just about 7 months and I think that Riley is ready for Laney to be up and walking and playing like she does, though.

Laney is just about 7 months old and is doing TOO much. It is always fun for a baby to start crawling and learning new things.... yeah fun for the first day or two... then reality kicks in... She is MOBILE!!!! Yikes!!!! I am NOT ready for that. I thought that I would be, but turns out... I am REALLY not!!!!

Everything else is wonderful! We have been in our house now a little over a year. John is working and almost done with taking a break is school and is recently received a calling as the Stake Baptism Coordinator. All wards have their baptisms on the same day now with their individual time slots. We thought that was so weird for a Stake to do things that way but I guess it is a Church wide thing now that everywhere will be switching to if they haven't already. He loves is though. So that is good!

Right now I am staying home with my PERFECT little girls and going to school whenever I get a chance to get on the computer. John has been pretty good about coming home and watching to girls so that I can do some homework real quick before we all need to go to bed. It has been pretty nice, John switched his schedule to 4 days 10 hrs a day and has Fridays off...I Love it! To have him home an extra day has been really nice. We can get a lot more done it seems like.

Well that is pretty much all that is going on here. Nothing too exciting!!!

So, this next week (December 17th) Riley will be turning two. She has grown so much and is very independent. We love her so much and can't imagine our life without her.

Helping Uncle Ry do the laundry. She loves spending time with him.

Especially playing the Cars racing game on the X-box. "Go, go, go!"

Thank you all for your comments on my blog... I got the hint... I needed to update. My bad!!! I have been busy. I recently started a new job which I hate but that is ok. It is getting better. Everything has been going really well with life. Riley of course is getting too big too fast. She is into everything. Right at this very moment she is trying to unlock the filing cabinet with the car keys. And as much as it is not working, she continues to try.

As most of you know, we are living in Arizona and it is continuing to get hotter and hotter. As a family we go on daily swims in our community pool as soon as John gets home from work. Riley is a pro. If you ask me, she is a little too brave for my comfort. She loves to just jump in even if no one is ready for her to. What a fish!!!

Right now we are impatiently waiting for our house to be done. For those that don't know John and I are building a house. It is out in Maricopa, Az near my parents. We will be right around the corner from them. So far it has been framed, electric and plumbing is done, the A/C is in and the next step is the insullation and then dry wall. This should start on Monday. The builders have not given us a specific date as of right now but when I asked them yesterday, they told me that they would try for August 15-20. It is so close!!! We are so excited to have a home of our own. It is the little things in life that make it so exciting. I am so excited to be ABLE to wash my car when I want in my own drive way and weed the garden and park in the garage... not that I will wash my car or have a garden but it is the ability to do so, if I wanted.

From The Beginning

Hello To All,

Just thought that I would become a blogger. FUN! Just a little update about me. I am married. I married John Hoffman in December 2006 and everything is wonderful! As most of you know, we had a little girl December 2007! Her name is Riley Anne. She is my full time job and let me tell you it is full time. She is walking and pretty close to running right now. She is getting so big too fast! But it has been loads of fun!

We are living in Phoenix, Arizona right now. John is working at the University of Phoenix and going to school and I am taking care of everything else and going to school as well. Riley is just being a busy beaver! She takes care of her little babies and she helps me clean... sort of... you all know how that goes!!! She is so proud of herself when she helps out though. We live close to my family, which is so nice. Riley LOVES Grandma and Papa! She always gets so excited when she sees them.

Riley is starting to say tons of things... like, "no" not very happy about that one but it is super cute when she says it. She makes a funny face and says very stongly "NO". She has still not learned how to say yes though, so to everything she says no. Pretty funny if you ask me. One of her new favorite games is Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. She has learned all of the parts. And she loves to play it over and over and OVER again!

About a month ago we sign on a house. It has not yet been started but it should be in the next couple of weeks. We are REALLY excited to have our own home! It would be pretty silly for us to not buy at this time, since we are paying the same for an apartment as we will be for a mortgage! It is pretty wierd but I am excited for a garage and a drive way! Weird I know but I am excited for no longer having to worry about our car getting stolen and being able to wash my car whenever I want. What most of you don't know is, our car has gotten stolen twice since living where we are. The first time it was found within 12 hours but the second time it didn't get found until 2 weeks after. Luckily it was paid off by the insurance and we now have a new car. That was nice for about 2 weeks and then that cars engine blew but that is getting fixed so it should be good as new... we hope!!!
